New horizons of potential for off-season watermelon in Khulna. Although the delicious and juicy watermelon is primarily a summer fruit, it is now being cultivated extensively in Khulna even during the rainy season. Where farmers are successfully producing off-season watermelon.

Our achievements
Due to the achievement of SDG, the Department of Agricultural Extension, Khulna District's success
(2008-09 to 2017-18)
* Increase in food grain production: 80320 MT. Oval: 27367 Mt.
* Distribution of agricultural input assistance cards among 3,0205 farmers.
* Opening bank accounts of 103813 farmers at only ten rupees.
* Providing assistance of 2,541,15,527 in agriculture rehabilitation / promotion program to 19941 farmers.
* For farm mechanization, 322 subsidized price of 25% subsidy, 15% for subsidized subsidy, 7% for 50% subsidy
Distribution of 74 agricultural machinery at 70% subsidy price.
* Free agricultural machinery distribution 340.
* Training of 1,35,434 peasant farmers on new technologies for the development of different skills.
* Til (1128 ha), watermelon (3468 ha), rice (34500 ha) on the unprotected land to face climate change.
And the extension of cultivation (2965 hem) cultivation.
* To ensure food security, safe vegetable and fruit production 60,000 Mt
* Increased intensity of crops in 2008-09 (178%) in 2016-17 (202%)
